Irish Blessings 137/365

Hope you had a Happy St. Patricks Day
Dave participated in a fund raiser in support of children with cancer. He grew his hair for a couple of months and raised money so that it could be shaved today. St. Baldrick's.
"the mission of St. Baldrick's Foundation is to raise awareness and funds to cure kids' cancer by supporting cancer research and fellowhsips." www.StBaldricks.org

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

We are missing some family members but this was the crew today. I know the selective coloring is cheesy but I wanted to try it.

We have something similiar over here called locks of love. Except there is a 10" hair requirement, and the hair goes towards wigs for cancer patients. Good for him for participating!

Good for him! I've done Locks of Love quite a few times, myself. I LOVE that poem/blessing! Glad you had a good one. Slaite!

That should be SLAINTE! Sorry!

What a great family photo! I'm not a big fan of selective coloring, but a lot of people love it, so it's a great thing to be able to do. Nice work!

I love the perspective on your first photo! So much more artistic than a straight-on shot.

The selective color may be "cheesy" as you said, but it's very, very festive for St. Patrick's day! ;) It's a very nice large group photo. What a great funraiser!
