D-261 Sunflower

Bought myself a treat
fun
I love sunflowers. They remind me of sunshine.

I've also been inspired by Imogen Cunningham. Her eye for detail is simply exquisite and I wonder how she captured details like she did in 1901, without all of the technology.

I've been reading "Portraits" by Terry Hope

With those 2 inspirations, I'm feeling motivated to do some black and whites.

Who inspires you?

I love sunflowers too - they just look so happy to me! I like the treatment of this one - great work!

I haven't been spending enough time in study and viewing to be inspired by anyone (but you) lately.

Sandra, that black and white of your daughter and the little girl (grand daughter?) stands out in my mind as one of the best images I've seen for the year. Why don't you do some similar portraits? I'd love to see you do some similarly conceptualized portraits.

Had a chance to read the blog post titled "Photography Without Direction" in Tasra's blog. Congrats on being featured in her Feature Friday post. Surely I am inspired by the story.

I also read your feature at Tasra's blog and enjoyed it. I feel as you did but I'm not sure what's holding me back from getting something started.
