Isabella - the challenge

Remember my challenge of 2 days ago? Well here is #2 out of seven.
It's ironic that Isabella is followed by the challenge. This little one has taught me how difficult it will be doing portraits of toddlers. Here she's looking right at the lens - I had to bribe her with some "more candy." I know it's not technically correct but hey, she's looking right at the lens!

Well the 50mm, 1.4 is considered a portraiture lens correct? Obviously I had to use a flash, my SB800.
My own eyes are no more than scouts on a preliminary search, for the camera's eye may entirely change my idea.

Did you drop the aperture down? When I'm inside my house, I'm at 3200 ISO and as low ap as I can go! My 50 only goes to 1.8. :) And for what it's worth, toddlers are HARD! We bribed my girls with white chocolate chips to get my Christmas Card pics!

Good point Tess, but I did not want to shot wide open like 1.4 or 1.8 because I wanted all of her to be in focus. At that distance her hands and sometimes hair become OFF, but your comment did make me go back and look at my settings. If you remember the day before I shot at ISO 1250. Well I forgot to change that. So tis image was ISO1250, F11 and I wanted a faster SS so that was 500.

bribery for photos is the norm in my house ;-) Well the boy not so much but if I want a picture of C I better have something good haha! I usually use 2.8 or a little higher inside because I can't seem to nail the focus any lower :-)

You may find that this is the start of eye contact! That's how it has worked with a few of mine. She is so cute!
