D 161 schroom . . .

Somtimes it's just easier to just hang up your gloves and take a rest.
What you do in those times really test your character. What do you do?
Here is my unispired image.
I learned that shooting wide open is not always a good idea. That having great details might be better than having all bokeh. In this image I could have slowed the shutter speed a tad and closed up my aperature. You live and learn (I hope).
Nikon D-300, F/1.6, SS1600, ISO 200

It is what it is. Running out of day light and a gloomy rainy evening.

I struggle with that all of the time... on everything. I really like a shallow depth of field, but when I look back, I know exactly what you are talking about.

Your little mushroom is very cute, and I like the bokeh.

I haven't a clue about the technique but it looks good to me!

I think this looks good, and the bokeh is nice. A wise person once told me, "they can't all be masterpieces." :-) But even if you don't consider this a masterpiece, it's a fine photo!

I like this composition and this looks good to me by itself.

I have learned that too with portraits. Much as I love shooting wide open, I love getting everything in focus that I wanted to be in focus more ;) This looks great to me.
