D-360 Just don't give up . . .

“Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”

5 Day count down. What will I do? It's always hard committing to do something. My fear? That I will run out of steam by the time winter rolls around again. I am, however working out a plan and once I commit it to the cyber world, I'll have to stick it out.

I am so proud of all of my 365 project friends who have stuck this project out. It has not been an easy road, at least not for me. Today is one of those days where I could just say forget it, but no, I'm committed.

I thought today's challenge was food photography so that's what I did. Here's lunch
Curried beef chow fun. We took a little trip to China Town. Food photography is not my "thing." I'm not even sure how to make food look good, but I gave it a try.

Curried beef chow fun

Welcome to China Town

After Nikhil's suggestion I went back and tried this image in black and white. I still don't care for it but it was worth a try.

Yeah I still don't think food photography is my thing.

The composition of the food shot is actually quite interesting, but I don't like it as a food shot. Also I think the stuff in the background (a glass?) adds clutter rather than interest. I think I would have liked it more if it was a bit more abstracted, like a black & white. That way, the forms and shapes would have played a more dominant role.

I am happy to see at least one of us taking on some new things even at this late stage. I am having difficulty departing from comfortable old subjects. It really does feel to me like I've done it all this year (although I know I haven't).

Let's see if I too can come up with something different in the next few days :)

I think it works a little better (at least for me) in black and white. But it isn't brilliant. We both need to take lessons from Sasi :)

I admire your faithfulness and dedication. I know that this hasn't been an easy year for you, but you have not only kept yourself going, you've encouraged a lot of US to keep going too.

I love the China Town buildings! That's something I don't get to see here in the wilds of Montana. Fabulous colors!

I like Nikhil's suggestion of more abstract, but I would do it by getting closer, I think. I think one of the issues with the color version is the white balance - it looks a bit too warm to me. The food looks delicious though - was it?

The final days can be exciting and frustrating. Like a long race. You can see the finish line but you still have to get there!

I love the picture of Chinatown. As for the food, it just seems to be missing some "pop". Like more green peppers! But great to see you are continuing to try new things.

Those dish looks yummy. There seem to be something missing in this shot - couldn't really pinpoint what that is. May by my eyes were drawn towards those lines (formed by plates) although that isn't the main subject here.

Great words here. Surely "Just don't give up" is the mantra.

I can't believe that the year is winding down, it has gone quite fast for me.

I wouldn't even know what to say about food.

I do like the night shot of Chinatown. Nothing is better than those evening images.
