I am happy with this session . . .
I will be posting more on my facebook. Here
she has the face of an angel but don't let that fool you. She has me wrapped around her little finger and she knows it. She was telling me that her mom gave her a time out yesterday conversation goes like this:
I - Mommy gave me a time out
me - Why?
I - on the couch
me - why?
I - I was qwaing
me - why did you get a time out?
I - because I don't wisen (listen) to mommy
me - Oh no, what did you do?
I - I took my seat belt off when mommy was driven
I - I don't wike time out so I cried.
(her mom says tell Nanny how long your time out was)
I - 3 minutes, I don't wike it.
I have a sad face and she proceeds to giggle. I guess she's over it now. LOL

354/365 Why I love my DSLR
Although we have a nice little point and shoot camera, I've become accustomed to telling the camera where to focus, what shutter speed to use and whether or not I want a flash. Here is an example of some tall grass I took pictures of with both my Nikon DSLR and my Nikon point and shoot.

353/365 Isabella at Bella Boo's
Isabella's mommy bought Isabella and me some tickets to go to a "costume party" at a place called Bella boo's today.
It's geared to children 8 and under. Isabella had a blast. She should be good and tired. She did a lot of climbing, sliding, playing in water, face painting, and she played cashier at a grocery store for a very long time.
Here are a few quick shots. I bounced the flash off of the ceiling in the indoor ones and had to aim it directly at her in the outdoor one.

352/365 Fall Visitor
I apologize for yesterdays post - After closer examination I just wasn't happy with the shot. Technically it was correct - creatively it didn't meet my standards. So I took it down. I will make up for it later.
I challenged myself today to take our point and shoot to work and do something creative at lunch time with it. All I can tell you is that I don't like point and shoots anymore.
I like to control my aperture, my shutter speed, my ISO etc. I like to decide what my depth of field will be and so on.
However, after lunch, I see one of the security guards giving this squirrel nuts. I guess this one comes up to the glass door and scratches and looks in the glass door. This guy has gotten her used to giving her nuts. Needless to say I was glad to have my point and shoot then.

352/365 What is it about shoes?
I'm working on a creative way of displaying them, but for now I just have this to offer. . . These are just some of my fall shoes (clears throat) What is it about shoes? I just cannot have enough.

350/369 I did take a picture . . .
Just not the ones posted. Dave took these and Pam took some awesome ones too. She will share later on FB I'm sure of it. There are so many wonderful images to pick from. I'm gonna have to upload them to flicker or something for those interested in seeing all of the images. I'll keep you posted.
Something old is the dress.
And finally, me and my girl Pam, at the end of the day.
346-349/365
349 "something old" stay tuned.
Something new. Dave got sworn in to the Ogden Dunes Police Department a couple of weeks ago. He just started there on Friday. It's just PT but what a change from his Full time gig. A completely different pace.
These mini pines are so interesting to me. Love'em
Well, what can I say? It's an eye ball.

345/365 Playing with light
For lack of models and willing participants - I give you me at almost 1:00 a.m. on a work night, after a long day.
I'm playing around with lighting. I used what's called a "garlic light" it's only 3 inches wide by 1 inch small. I was going for a silhouette look. I'll keep playing around, I'm sure I'll figure it out someday.
I used coffee shops Bitter Sweet Vintage on the smaller one.

344/365 It's official
No, not that I only have 21 more days to go for the 365 to be officially over
No, not that my hubby is back home after being out of town, with family for SEVERAL
days. I'm glad he's back home.
I finally committed to a 5K Race. I've been wanting to sign up for something for awhile but now it's official. No backing out. My supervisor convinced me to sign up for this "easy" one. How bad can it be - it's sponsored by Hershey's. It's called the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K.
Here's a peak at a few days of my "training" calendar. I don't have much time.

336-343/365 Huge catch up
It's been 8 days but I have more than enough pictures to post.
Here is our "Welcome To Michigan" picture.
It was snowing as soon as we entered Michigan. We saw very little sunshine while we were there lots of rain, clouds, snow and cold.
We went to the Upper Pinensula of Michigan. Beautiful areas.
. . .but here are the beautiful Michigan Colors . . .
and look, the white from the snow, just makes the colors jump out at you.
We visited Tahquamenon Falls. 40,000 acres of mostly undeveloped woodland without roads, building or power lines. The upper Falls has a drop of nearly 50 feet and more than 200 feet across. The lower falls is a series of five smaller falls. The amber color of the water is from tannin leached from the Cedar, Sprice and Hemlock in the swamps drained river.
Then in another part of the state we drove on a dirt road for two and a half hours and we came across this . . . I haven't seen one of these in a very long time. Not sure if it works.
We drove that distance to get to this . . . a secluded lighthouse. Crisp Point Lighthouse built in 1904.
The Mackinac Bridge is currently the third longest suspension bridge in the world.
"All suspension bridges are designed to move to accommodate wind, change in temperature, and weight. It is possible that the deck at center span could move as much as 35 feet (east or west) due to high winds. This would only happen under severe wind conditions. The deck would not swing or "sway" but rather move slowly in one direction based on the force and direction of the wind. After the wind subsides, the weight of the vehicles crossing would slowly move it back into center position."
Yes we felt the affects of wind on the bridge.
Back Home . . .
Visiting an Amish Town
I must be the luckiest woman in town. My youngest left this red rose on my computer for me. He's such a sweetheart, he also left 2 white roses on his sisters car. One for her one for Isabella. How thoughtful is that?
then today, Miss Isabella picks these for me and her mom.
This is where they are hanging in my kitchen. :)
It's been a great week off of work, now I must get ready to start the work week.

334-335/365 Rubber Duckie & Pixel to Canvas
I received my second canvas from Pixel2Canvas. It's my daughter in her uniform. I'm still waiting on one more, my sons. You photographers out there should really look into this company. They have a duck program too. Every time you order a canvas you get a Duckie. I have 2 from them.
When I saw this second on was a vampire duckie I had to try and create a story. Here it is. The tiny duckies I already had. Just for fun!
We are leaving out of town for a few days. I will check back in with some awesome images. Have a great week everyone.

331-333/364 Sunset, a new baby & Maggiano's!
So lets start with today's pictures. My new baby!
Nikon 70-200mm 2.4! Yeah baby, I've been saving for this one for the past year! Sweet.
We treated ourselves to dinner at Maggianos - Little Italy. Yummy!
This was taken from my cell phone.
Using my D-300, 50mm from a moving car. I'm running out of ideas.

328 - 330/364 Catch up post
My little princess is wearing a dress that belonged to her mom many, many years ago.
I found a little craft project that she really enjoyed. We made this necklace over 50 times. She loved the beading process.
When I went to that abandoned factory, I set my mind to focus on one color. The color that repeated itself there was yellow. Here is my "study in yellow - urban grunge"
I found a way to blow off some steam! I mean it really works. I've been punching the bag at the gym! My hand is a little bruised but well worth it! LOL
This picture was taken by my son Izzy while I was in action with his cell phone.
