The daily shoot:
#ds372 Make a photograph dominated by horizontal lines or compositional elements that go all the way across the frame.
I used a flash light to give the teddy a "spot light" effect.

•Moving on is simple, what you leave behind that makes it difficult.


This Teddy is approximately 27 years old. I found it stored away with some old stuff. He kept my oldest company for many, many years. Prayer bear.

D-304 Black rim lighting

A totally uninspired, photographically speaking, day. Just couldn't come up with any ideas for a photo today so I tried Rim lighting on a reflective subject. "law of angle of indicence equals angle of reflection" . . . I kind of get the concept but am having problems executing it. I think I might be missing a light, which I refuse to buy.

D-230 Tools of the trade. . .

My tool "of the day" is this antique straight razor. Not necessarily important to me on a daily basis however it does make one think of history and how far we've come.

Imagine shaving your legs with one of those.
I know the right tools are of the utmost importance in getting terrific photographs, however if you never bother to take the time and learn your "tool" then you would have wasted great resources.

I shot this one in low light, same settings as yesterdays, I converted to black and white then I colorized. I also added a layer of texture (from my own collection). This one used to be bright green.

I am trying to make a series with this vintage plate. This is the second image I like so far. This was done in the studio but I was trying to make it look like natural light. I used a snoot. Monochromatic white on white.

Tweaked the image in p.s. with saturation and contrast.
